Hello fellow Steemians
My name is Ed. I was recently introduced to Steemit by a good friend @sammarkjames. I’m excited to see how the Steemit platform develops and start interacting with the community.
I’m a typical 30 year-old struggling photojournalist. I currently live here there and everywhere as I try to cover the refugee crisis on the ground. In 2017 I spent most of the year in the Balkans photographing the refugee crisis and learning why the refugees and migrants left their home countries.
I studied history at university and after worked dozens of crappy jobs before deciding I needed to chase my passion for photography and photojournalism. I’ve been a photographer for the last 16 years, however the last 8 years I have taken the professional approach seriously.
Why have I joined Steemit? The answer is simple. I want a space to share my photographs and reportage with a responsive audience. I want the opportunity to engage with an audience who are eager to see the reality on the ground and understand some of the stories the mainstream media do not cover.
I hope to provide a frank and honest account of any story I cover and want to create a platform were you as a reader can feel free to ask me anything you would like to know. Making a living from photojournalism is a constant struggle so I’m hoping the Steemit community will be able to help me keep chasing stories and provide interesting content.
Below are a few of my pictures and I look forward to sharing more in the future :-)
