Try to resist that upstroke! It may feel natural, it may not. The real key to fluent playing is connecting your strokes. The time it takes to go from a down stroke to an up is very minimal. Widely used by many. But the time it takes to go from a down to a down is even more minimal. Try it and get used to it. It's life changing. Cheers.
