Found in the Coast of Camarines Norte is the Mercedes Group of Islands. Apuao Grande, Quinapaguian, Malasugui, Apuao Pequeña, Canton, Caringo, and Canimog are scenic and beautiful tropical destinations for your beach bumming pleasure.

I was able to visit some of the islands and take some pretty beautiful photographs with my old Canon 1000D and a mobile phone. Please enjoy.

The Love Project PH team that I'm with during the trip. Our boat is kind of small, so it's really hard to get a good group shot, plus the waves is making it more difficult.

Upon arriving Apuao Grande, the main island of the 7. I took this snapshot of the beach. Then off we go to prepare our lunch for the day.

This small hut will be our dining, sleeping and chill out area during our stay in the island. The next set of pictures will be some of the snapshots around the Apuao Grande Island.

We took a boat ride to one of the uninhabited island and took some photos. I really can't remember the name of the island.

Now, you're wondering I said it's uninhabited but there's a boat. Some of the locals have set up a small fish pen just by the beach. I think they left that boat there for backup (?), plus I haven't seen any local townsfolk except for our boatman.

Now we're off to Caringo Island.

Arriving at Caringo Island. I took this snapshot and my group prepared for some snorkeling. I'm quite afraid of deep waters so I stayed and watched our things.

Caringo Island is well known for their good snorkeling spot and white sand beach.

This is "Capitan" as the locals call him. He's the guy who accomodated us during our stay in the island. Nice guy, even offered me a drink and some smoke.

Now we're off to the branggay to get some Halo-Halo.

All smiles. The Love Project PH team is really good dealing with children. Well, we're all old folks with a kid's heart.

Back to Apuao Grande to have some rest and dinner!

Too bad I haven't had the chance to shoot the night sky with the stars. I don't have my tripod with me and I'm not really sure if my 1000D can handle night photography. So, we just watched the stars while lying on the beach with my friends.

One last photo before leaving Mercedes and go back to the port for some side trip and lunch.

Back at Mercedes Port. We washed up and chilled a little in a videoke bar (?). We also had fun with some of the local kids at the port.

Our 2 hull catamaran boat arrived and we can now eat our lunch. LOL.

Eat all you can on a catamaran for around $7.00 per person. Not bad.

Yes the fee includes the use of these small boats. You can row around the Mangroves if you like. You can also use the kayaks on board for an extra fee.

Now back to Daet town proper to prepare for our trip to Bagasbas Beach and check out some surfing action. But first we paid a visit to the first monument of Dr. Jose Rizal.

Now that ends our trip to the Bicol region. The 3 day trip was exhausting but fun. We met friendly locals, ate good food and enjoyed the beaches. I will definitely go back and do it all over again and will definitely bring a tripod. LOL.
