Dibujar y escuchar podcasts, es mi actividad #1, este dibujo nació así escuchando un podcast donde hablaban sobre suicidio y demás; sin embargo escuchando el podcast me di cuenta de que tenía unas ganas urgentes de dibujar, puse manos a la obra y esto fue lo que salió, a lo largo de este post les hablare de como me sentí, porque lo hice y las técnicas que fueron parte del proceso, así que sin más dilación, empecemos este recorrido.

Drawing and listening to podcasts is my #1 activity, this drawing was born like this listening to a podcast where they talked about suicide and others; however listening to the podcast I realized that I had an urgent desire to draw, I got down to work and this is what came out, throughout this post I will talk about how I felt, why I did it and the techniques that were part of the process, so without further delay, let's start this journey.

Este es el boceto que nació a partir de escuchar el podcast, comencé dibujando las manos, sin saber muy bien en que se basaría del todo este dibujo, luego vinieron las líneas en las muñecas, pasando por dedos, desde que vi como iban progresando esas líneas pensé que el tema de este dibujo seria los lazos de sangre, porque eso estaba pensando mientras escuchaba el podcast en el cual hablaban de suicidio; hace unos meses leí un ensayo donde decía que por lo general las personas que se suicidan tienen antecedentes biológicos, como personas adictas tanto a las drogas como al alcohol, siguiendo desde trastornos psicológicos, es una lista larga pero que lleva al mismo punto, lazos de sangre, ADN, genética, en mi familia han habido varios suicidios, hacer este dibujo fue un poco catártico, me sentí motivada pero al mismo tiempo nostálgica al hacerlo, por escuchar y pensar en todas las personas las cuales he perdido ya que decidieron no vivir más.

This is the sketch that was born from listening to the podcast, I started drawing the hands, not knowing very well what this drawing would be based on, then came the lines on the wrists, passing through fingers, since I saw how those lines I thought that the theme of this drawing would be blood ties, because that's what I was thinking while listening to the podcast in which they talked about suicide; A few months ago I read an essay where it said that generally people who commit suicide have a biological background, such as people addicted to both drugs and alcohol, following from psychological disorders, it's a long list but it leads to the same point, bonds of blood, DNA, genetics, in my family there have been several suicides, making this drawing was a bit cathartic, I felt motivated but at the same time nostalgic to do it, to listen and think of all the people I have lost since they decided not to live plus.

Antes de delinear todo con tinta, preferí pintar las zonas donde quería que fuesen rojas, como las líneas de las manos y que salían de ellas, pase muchísimas veces el color rojo por esas líneas, asegurándome de que tuviesen un color uniforme; un caso distinto en las gotas de sangre del centro, busque pintarlos de una manera muy suave y sin dejar muchos rastros en el paginas con la punta del lápiz, con algunas de las gotas ya sombreadas, cuando me encargue de las más pequeñas, las grandes eran el siguiente objetivo, a la hora de sombrearlas pensé en sombrearlas con violeta y un poco de grafito, para si intensificar el color, que nada se viese muy opaco y sin color.

Quería descansar un poco del colorear en rojo, así que pase a hacer un poco de delineado en la mano de abajo, engrosando la línea de la silueta y luego dándole textura con líneas aun más finas; pero no podía olvidarme de las gotas de sangre que me quedaba por hacer, así que puse en marcha el final de este dibujo, seguí con mi técnica de sombrear y oscurecer zonas con el violeta y con el grafito y para darles el brillo que suele tener el liquido espeso y oscuro, use un corrector, poniéndolo en los sitios donde sabia que podría reflejarse la luz.

Before outlining everything with ink, I preferred to paint the areas where I wanted them to be red, like the lines of the hands and coming out of them, I passed the red color many times over those lines, making sure they had a uniform color; a different case in the drops of blood in the center, try to paint them in a very soft way and without leaving many traces on the pages with the tip of the pencil, with some of the drops already shaded, when I take care of the smaller ones, the big ones they were the next objective, when it came to shading them I thought of shading them with violet and a little graphite, to intensify the color, so that nothing would look too opaque and colorless.

I wanted to take a break from the red coloring, so I went on to do some outlining on the bottom hand, thickening the silhouette line and then giving it texture with even finer lines; but I couldn't forget about the drops of blood that I had left to do, so I started the end of this drawing, I continued with my technique of shading and darkening areas with violet and graphite and to give them the brightness that they usually have thick, dark liquid, use a concealer, putting it in places where you knew light might reflect.

Usar el dibujo como medio de expresión ha sido una constante en mi vida, me he escapado de mi realidad muchísimas veces gracias a eso, puedo distraerme puedo pensar en algo más, es feliz este lugar donde me siento y dibujo sin prisas, pero también es solitario, a veces desdichado y lleva al abismo pensando en el final, si ese final algún día llegara. Espero que mientras llegue ese ansiado final, pueda aun mostrarles mis obras y las cosas que soy capaz de hacer.

Using drawing as a means of expression has been a constant in my life, I have escaped from my reality many times thanks to that, I can distract myself I can think of something else, this place where I sit and draw without haste is happy, but it is also lonely, sometimes unhappy and leads to the abyss thinking about the end, if that end ever came. I hope that while that long-awaited end arrives, I can still show you my works and the things I am capable of doing.
