Hello, this is Susie. She is the beautiful pet of our nephew Santiago. Her parents gave her to him several months ago, when she was just a puppy.

Since then, she is the spoiled girl at home. Everybody spoils her, especially Santiago and his father.

Whenever we go to visit, Santiago looks for his cat and brings her in his arms as if she was a baby. He likes me to pet her, because he knows I had a little one almost two years ago but unfortunately she died a few months later. That loss was painful for me. She was a kitty that stole my heart, as before that experience I had little closeness with felines.

Now I understand what a pet can mean to its owner. So I am a witness of the strong bond that unites Santi with his beloved Susie.

On Sunday we went to visit Santiago and so we took the opportunity to walk at sunset. As usual he brought his cat for us to see her. I held her a little bit and a few seconds later she jumped out so we left her alone and continued talking as if nothing happened. A while later, the cat jumped up on the furniture and went to sit in front of the TV screen in the living room.

She looked so beautiful there. She looked like a ceramic statuette. Sitting almost motionless looking straight ahead or watching her fluffy tail. So she attracted our attention right away. Even Santi and her mom came over to pet her. At first I thought she would get off the ledge but the truth is she was not even a little bit bothered by the human presence.

Hola. Les presento a Susie. Ella es la bella mascota de nuestro sobrino Santiago. Sus padres se la regalaron hace varios meses, cuando apenas era una cachorra.

Desde entonces, es la niña consentida en el hogar. Todos la miman, especialmente Santiago y su padre.

Siempre que vamos de visita, Santiago busca a su gata y la trae en brazos como si fuera un bebé. A el le gusta que yo la acaricie, pues sabe que tuve una pequeña hace casi dos años pero lamentablemente murió a los pocos meses. Esa pérdida fue dolorosa para mi. Fue una gatita que robó mi corazón, pues antes de esa experiencia poca cercanía tenía con los felinos.

Ahora entiendo lo que puede llegar a significar una mascota para su amo. Así que soy testigo del fuerte lazo que une a Santi con su querida Susie.

El domingo fuimos a visitar a Santiago y así aprovechamos de caminar al atardecer. Como es costumbre trajo a su gata para que la viéramos. La sostuve un poco y a los pocos segundos ella saltó así que la dejamos tranquila y continuamos conversando como si nada. Un rato después, la gata saltó sobre los muebles y fue a sentarse frente a la pantalla del televisor que está en la sala.

Se veía tan hermosa allí. Parecia una estatuilla de cerámica. Sentada casi inmóvil mirando al frente u observando su peluda cola. Así que atrajo nuestra atención de inmediato. Incluso Santi y su mamá se acercaron a acariciarla. En principio pensé que ella se bajaría de la repisa pero la verdad no le molestó ni siquiera un poco la presencia humana.
