Hi dear reader, There is a place I want to talk about as part of the [Trliste travel contest](https://peakd.com/hive-138975/@trliste/trliste-gezi-yarismasi). It is about the *Sanctuary of Truth*, a mysterious place at the northern end of Pattaya whose philosophy is based on the principles of peace and spirituality. To be honest, I did not even know such a place existed before I arrived to Pattaya. I had realized that there was a temple 8 km north of the town waiting to be explored, while doing research for the weekend. When I checked on the map, it was about 40 minutes away by motorcycle. I set off to experience the atmosphere of the temple up close, without wasting time.

Visitors are allowed in every hour to avoid crowds. They said that as the wood-carved structures are still being built and mounted on huge pillars, it is a safety requirement to wear a helmet inside.

The various species of geckos I encountered on this road, which is located on forested terrain, attract my attention. There were also wood carved sculptures with human and animal figures placed in various parts of the forest.

As I remember, one of the basic ideas of the philosophy of this temple was to bring people together by presenting elements from various world religions and philosophies. In my opinion, it is somewhat pointless to seek a meaning in all of the ideas that we might encounter in South East Asia. Especially if tourism constitutes a major share of the regional economy.. In the 21st century, where individuality is increasingly prominent and individuals easily adapt to cultural differences, it is worth taking a third look at the original purpose of these philosophical concepts. Who knows, is there a concern here to commercialize these deep-rooted ideas of many years? This is of course arguable, that was my own opinion. At least I think this is the case in tourist magnet locations all over the world.

Hatırladığım kadarıyla, bu tapınağın felsefesinin temel fikirlerinden biri, çeşitli dünya dinlerinden ve felsefelerinden unsurları sergileyerek insanları bir araya getirmeyi amaçlamaktı. The combination of architectural styles and religious symbols from a variety of cultures, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity and Islam, within the temple clearly demonstrates this..

The wood carvings and sculptures, which look quite complex, are all handcrafted. We can say that this is the most important detail that reflects the commitment to preserving and developing traditional craftsmanship in a world increasingly dominated by mechanization.

I was confused a little at this point, I did not quite understand it, but now I am not going to wait on this point to see what else is going on inside.

The reason of that is all the structures here are made entirely of wood and not a single metal is used, even down to the mounting nails. There have even been collapses in some parts before. Since the aim is to maximize natural light, it is possible that there may be mistakes related to the static design in some parts I thought.

There is really great respect for the king in the country. If you insult the king you can get a heavy prison penalty.

But, I need to find water urgently. The closest place to find water is a 20 minute walk down the path from where I came. I think I have seen almost all of the temple. And, I leave the temple because I have other plans for the day.

Would I recommend it to someone coming to Thailand? Honestly, compared to the museums or temples I have visited before, I have never seen anything like this before. *Definitely worth a visit!*

They look as if they spontaneously formed in the forest. Some in human form. Some are in the form of mystical creatures or animals. The natural wear and tear on them seems to have strengthened their connection with the forest.

There were people practicing yoga. I wanted to enjoy some green here. It was good to get away from the busy weekdays and spend time here to think alone. I usually plan my travels on weekends and travel on the following Saturday. The next destination will most likely be Malaysia. But there was no reason why I could not stay here for another week. After deciding to stay for another week, I set off back to town.

The way was different than the way I came. I saw dozens of papaya, durian, jackfruit sellers on the side of the road. I think they were growing them in the village and taking them from here to the city center. One of the details I will never forget about Thailand will be its yummy fruits!
