Our son booked us a room at the ***GranVia Hotel*** in ***Okayama***, a particularly convenient choice thanks to its ideal location: it is directly connected to JR Okayama Station, making our travel and excursions around the region much easier. Hardly had we dropped off our suitcases than we set off to explore the city without wasting a minute. We began by wandering through the lively streets, lined with izakayas—those typical small Japanese pubs—and various restaurants offering local specialties. The aroma of grilled dishes and yakitori skewers immediately caught our attention, and we couldn’t resist tasting a few of these delicacies. To complete our immersion in the local atmosphere, we took a detour through the Ebisu-dori shopping arcade, a covered passage where the historic charm of Kurashiki is fully felt. Between traditional shops and small modern boutiques, this stroll allowed us to blend culture, shopping, and gastronomy, setting the tone for our stay in Okayama.

Notre fils nous a réservé une chambre à l'***hôtel GranVia*** d'***Okayama***, un établissement particulièrement pratique grâce à son emplacement idéal : il est directement relié à la gare JR Okayama Station, ce qui facilite grandement nos déplacements et nos excursions dans la région. À peine nos valises déposées, nous ne perdons pas une minute et partons à la découverte de la ville. Nous commençons par flâner dans les ruelles animées où se succèdent izakayas, ces petits troquets japonais typiques, et divers restaurants proposant des spécialités locales. L’odeur des plats grillés et des brochettes de yakitori attire immédiatement notre attention, et nous ne résistons pas à l’envie de goûter à quelques-unes de ces gourmandises. Pour compléter notre immersion dans l’atmosphère locale, nous faisons un détour par la galerie marchande d’Ebisu-dori, un passage couvert où l’on ressent pleinement le charme historique de Kurashiki.
