Although decision-making in its simplest aspect is to choose an option among the different alternatives to achieve better efficiency or satisfaction that can be individual or collective (group), it is also true that depending on the scenario or context it can be much more complex.

Si bien las tomas de decisiones en su aspecto más simple es elegir una opción entre las distintas alternativas para lograr una mejor eficacia o satisfacción que puede ser individual o colectiva (grupal), también es cierto que dependiendo el escenario o el contexto puede ser mucho más complejo.

Therefore and continuing with the topic of the entrepreneur or entrepreneurship, we are going to briefly discuss some examples of the topic of Decision Making. On this occasion we are going to describe some types of decisions that we can find. In other posts we will share other scenarios, from the educational, administrative and daily fields, as well as factors when deciding.

Por ello y continuando con la temática del emprendedor(a) o emprendimiento, vamos a tratar someramente con algunos ejemplos del tópico de toma de decisiones. En esta ocasión vamos a describir algunos tipos de decisiones que podemos encontrarnos. En otros post vamos a compartir otros escenarios, desde lo educativo, administrativo y cotidianidad, así como factores al momento de decidir.

A leader is sometimes accompanied by a working group that helps to project the goals of any company or organization, and many times they contribute to execute or plan the decisions that may be taken. The leader is the main person in charge of the organization's actions to achieve its objectives. During the development of the plans, the leader must make choices of all kinds, from the moment of planning to the completion of the objective. The decisions to be made can be of different kinds and for different circumstances.

Un líder en ocasiones está acompañado de un grupo de trabajo que ayuda a proyectar las metas de cualquier empresa u organización, y muchas veces contribuye para ejecutar o planificar las decisiones que pueden llegar a tomarse. El líder es el principal encargado del accionar de la organización para llegar a cumplir sus objetivos. Durante el desarrollo de los planes, el líder debe hacer elecciones de todo tipo, desde el momento de la planificación hasta la finalización del objetivo. Las decisiones a tomar pueden ser de distintas índoles y por diversas circunstancias.

Decision making is not something strange in our life, in fact, in our daily life we are making decisions all the time. From the moment we get up and choose the clothes we are going to wear, until the moment we go to bed.

Las tomas de decisiones no son algo extraño en nuestras vidas, de hecho, en nuestra cotidianidad estamos todo el tiempo tomando decisiones. Desde el momento que nos levantamos y escogemos la ropa que vamos a usar, hasta el momento que nos vamos a la cama.

The same happens in various situations that we go through during the day. For example, if we want to have an aperitif, we must choose between the different dishes. Once that choice is made, suppose we decide to buy a dessert, in turn we must choose the type of our preference or whatever we want at that time. This group of decisions is usually known by many names such as routine decisions, everyday decisions or depending on the context or environment they can be automatic.

De igual modo pasa en diversas situaciones por las que atravesamos durante el día. Por ejemplo, si deseamos comer un aperitivo, debemos elegir entre los distintos platos. Una vez realizada esa elección, supongamos que decidimos comprar un postre, a su vez deberemos escoger el tipo de nuestra preferencia o lo que nos apetece en el momento. A este grupo de decisiones suelen conocerse con muchos nombres tales como decisiones de rutina, de la cotidianidad o dependiendo el contexto o ambiente pueden ser automáticas.

On the other hand, there is a group of decisions that are sometimes known as intuitive decision making. It refers to the decisions that are made by "smell" or the presentiment, they are intuitions that people obtain on many occasions by the factor of experiences or experiences. There are those who point out that they are emotional and should be careful. But they are not without success scenarios.

Por otro lado, hay un grupo de decisiones que en ocasiones son conocidas como las toma de decisiones por intuición. Se refiere a las decisiones que se dan por el “olfato” o el presentimiento, son intuiciones que las personas obtienen en muchas ocasiones por el factor de las experiencias o las vivencias. Hay quienes señalan que son emocionales y se deben de tener cuidado. Pero no dejan de tener los escenarios de éxitos.

This type of decision usually occurs in sports such as soccer, the agility of the players is observed, and sometimes the person in charge of “signing” the players does not consider the data but their experience and trust in them to make the decision to sign a player.

Estos de tipo de decisiones, muchas veces ocurren en los deportes como el fútbol, se observa la agilidad de los jugadores, y en ocasiones el encargado de “fichar” los jugadores no considera los datos sino su experiencia y confianza en ello para tomar la decisión de fichar a un jugador.

Likewise, we find other types of decisions that require better analysis before executing them. They are decisions that are not taken lightly, but the case, the pros and cons of each option are usually studied well, before finding the chosen option. An example of this is when the leader of an organization must select who will lead the development and launch of a new product.

Así mismo, encontramos otro tipo de decisiones que requieren un mejor análisis antes de ejecutarlas. Son decisiones que no se toman a la ligera, sino que suele estudiarse bien el caso, los pros y contras de cada opción, antes de dar con la opción elegida. Un ejemplo de ello es cuando el líder de una organización debe seleccionar a quién dirigirá el desarrollo y lanzamiento de un nuevo producto.

These decision making are made in a more logical or rational way, they follow a series of criteria, norms, rules or structure. In addition, they are accompanied by the study of the different scenarios to achieve greater efficiency, time and money are considered, among other factors. They are not taken lightly and sometimes take time to take and execute. These decisions are known as rational or criteria-based decision making.

Dichas tomas de decisiones son tomadas de manera más lógica o por lo racional, siguen una serie de criterios, normas, reglas o estructura. Además, están acompañas de estudiar los diversos escenarios para lograr una mejor eficacia, se considera el tiempo, el dinero, entre otros factores. No son tomadas a la ligera y ocasionalmente llevan tiempo para tomarlas y ejecutarlas. Estas decisiones son conocidas como toma de decisiones racionales o basadas en criterios específicos.

Decision making is one of the fundamental aspects in companies, organizations and in our day to day life. Decisions are often made considering different factors such as future, time, money, resources, tools, collected information, among others. All of this will contribute to making the decision made the most satisfactory. Of course, sometimes there are also risks when deciding, so it is not easy to make a decision, for example a business one.

La toma de decisión es uno de los aspectos fundamentales en las empresas, organizaciones y en nuestra vida diaria. Las decisiones muchas veces son tomadas considerando distintos factores tales como, futuro, tiempo, dinero, recursos, herramientas, información recolectada, entre otros. Todo ello contribuirá a que la decisión que se tome sea la más satisfactoria. Por supuesto, en ocasiones también se presentan riesgos a la hora de decidir, por eso, no es fácil tomar una decisión por ejemplo empresarial.
