Die Zeit schritt voran und ich wurde älter. Ich war ungefähr 6 Jahre alt, als mein Bruder sich einen PC kaufte. Auf diesem war damals Windows 3.11 installiert. Aus irgendeinem Grund funktionierte Windows nicht mehr und wir mussten mit DOS klar kommen. Was im Nachhinein gar nicht so schlimm war :)

Natürlich hatten wir auch Spiele für diesen Computer und eines welches mir bis heute in guter Erinnerung bleibt ist:

Ein Meilenstein in der Computerspielgeschichte. So ist es doch der Vorreiter für viele weitere hochkarätige Weltraumsimulationsspiele wie z.B. die X-Reihe, Privateer, Wing Commander und wie sie alle heißen.

Man startet in diesem Spiel irgendwo im Weltall in einer Raumstation. Wenigstens bestitzt man schonmal ein Schiff (Cobra MkIII) und ein wenig Bewaffnung. Nun heißt es mit dem Startkapital von 100 Credits durch Handel oder Piraterie mehr Credits zu sammeln. Dazu fliegt man die Raumstationen von verschiedenen Planeten an und kauft/verkauft die dortige Ware. Wie erwähnt kann man aber auch Piraterie betreiben und andere umherfliegende Schiffe zerstören und deren Fracht einsammeln um sie anschließend zu verkaufen. Mit genug Credits in der Tasche ist man in der Lage sein Schiff aufzuwerten und bessere Bewaffnung zu kaufen, um sich besser auf den Handelsrouten vor anderen Piraten zu schützen oder selbst als Pirat bessere Schiffe zu zerstören, um wiederum mehr Fracht abzugreifen. Und so geht die Spirale immer weiter...

Ich hab damals immer beim Spielbeginng die Bewaffnung verkauft und erstmal Handel betrieben. Mit genügender Bewaffnung bin ich auf die Piraterie umgestiegen und hab mich bis zum Rang "Elite" durchgekämpft. Ein sehr schönes Spiel und ich hab es zu damaliger immer wieder gerne gespielt. Auch heute spiele ich gerne solche Spiele. Zum Beispiel die oben besagte X-Reihe gehört zu meinen Favoriten (bis auf X-Rebirth).
