El pasado 14 de Febrero fue el día del amor y la amistad. Como parte de la celebración mi novio y yo decidimos que sería un día de probar comidas en sitios nuevos de nuestra Maturín.

Last February 14 was the day of love and friendship. As part of the celebration, my boyfriend and I decided that it would be a day to try food in new places in our Maturín.

Así que nos fuimos a 'Son Pastelitos', un lugar muy acogedor. El local comercial tiene un estilo "country", donde su fachada, mesas y sillas son de madera rústica.

So we went to 'Son Pastelitos', a very cozy place. The commercial space has a 'country' style, where its facade, tables and chairs are made of rustic wood.

Ellos ofrecen al público los famosos (a nivel nacional), **Pastelitos zulianos**, los cuales son hechos con una masa compuesta por harina de trigo y se rellenan de manera individual o combinada para luego ser fritos y posteriormente servidos.

Encontramos sabores comunes como pastelito de queso, de pollo, carne mechada o molida, papa con queso, y combinaciones más elaboradas como plátano con queso (de los mejores), romano (tocineta, carne mechada y queso), tocineta con queso, entre otras.

Nos decidimos a probar los de tocineta con queso, el cual fue de nuestros favoritos, ya que combina grandes trozos de tocineta ahumada con queso amarillo, provocando así una mezcla de sabores exquisitos en el paladar.

We decided to try the bacon with cheese, which was one of our favorites, since it combines large pieces of smoked bacon with yellow cheese, thus provoking a mixture of exquisite flavors on the palate.

También probamos el romano (que no tiene nada que ver con Roma). La combinación de la carne desmechada (es una carne que se hierve primero para luego ser deshilachada y, posteriormente, condimentada y sofrita), la tocinera y el queso hacen que sea unos pastelitos de un sabor muy fuerte. Muy sabroso, pero no apto para todo tipo de paladar.

We also tried the Romano (which has nothing to do with Rome). The combination of the shredded meat (it is a meat that is first boiled and then shredded and then seasoned and fried), the bacon and the cheese make these pastries with a very strong flavor. Very tasty, but not suitable for all types of palates.

Por último, el de chori queso (chorizo con queso). Una delicia para los amantes del cerdo y de los quesos. Un sabor muy venezolano y sobretodo Zuliano.
