Education is the live wire of every society. It has both intellectual and economic values. It encourages imagination, creativity and interest in knowledge. It offers the educated more opportunities than those who are not educated.

Education is an essential part of intellectual freedom. Freedom is one of the main values of improving society. Education encourages sharing of ideas and experiences amongst individual/students, which helps them to become better members of their respective communities by teaching morals, ethics and communal responsibilities. Without education individuals would not be able to understanding the benefits of volunteering.

Education helps to encourage individuals to educate themselves and to seek out information. It creates opportunities to learn about many different things such as art, sports, Math and literature.

In spite of the many benefits of education, youths of today consider EDUCATION as a no man‘s business. Boys go into apprenticeship while girls get married off early. They do these thinking that going to school is a waste of time and money. Boys may go soot-free but girls do not. WHY? Because in this era, men are looking for educated ladies as life partners, not illiterates.

My advice to girls is: MARRIAGE is not everything. Education is. With EDUCATION, you will be able to actualize your dreams, that is to say, if you have a dream of becoming somebody in life. If you have a dream of going to school to become a Medical Doctor, you should seek to actualize it by working towards your goal. To do this, go to school and study your books. Go for quality textbooks. When you do these, you will succeed.

However, if your dream is to become a businessman or woman, get educated and work towards it. There are tons of books written by successful businessmen and women on how to succeed in business. Buy these books, read them, apply the principles enunciated therein and you will become somebody in life.

You have to work hard. my dear. There is nothing you cannot achieve with God by your side. Hard work is the key to success, not just education because aspiration without setting goals and working towards them is like playing in a football match without a goal post.

In terms of marriage, you do not have to marry because of money, else, you will become one of your husband's possessions. If you do not plan your life now, you will end up in someone's plan. You have to add value to yourself.

Develop a career plan and work to make your life better. Do not be fooled that a man will solve all your problems. Think about your life and destiny because whom you marry will determine whether your life will be a grand definition of success or a grand definition of failure.

Education is an agent of positive change in individuals and society. Education should not just theoretical, but practical. Parents, schools, the media and teachers should accord every child the opportunity of being educated.
