My previous article on “Opinion Piece: What is the true value of Dragon Coins?” was very widely received and the readership has gone up significantly.

I am following up with another write up about some of the reasons why I am investing in Dragon Coin. Some of these information can be gleaned from their whitepaper while some of the information can be learned from their telegram group.

Reason 1

Before I invest in any ICO, the first thing that I look out for is a good use case for blockchain.

I dislike companies that purely launches an ICO for the sake of FOMO or just trying to grab cash from investors; especially when many of ICO investors are not expert or accredited investors in the traditional sense.

In the case of Dragon, the application of the blockchain technology onto a traditional business like the junket industry is appropriate and it solves a real world current problem.

Admittedly this is not a problem of world hunger or world peace but it is about saving costs for the wealthy gamblers. So what? It is a huge industry and one that will continue to make billions each year.

We are all here to see returns from our investments and this is probably the best industry to be in.

I was always told “To make money, you have to be near where the money is”. And other than banking, gambling is where we see cash rolling around like toys.

The CEO has expressed that at the start, there will be a buying demand of $20million daily for Dragon coins and subsequently when Dragon is fully running, there will be a $500mil demand for the coin daily. This will be a huge pump for the coin.

This is not a case of a startup trying to change the world with their selfless vision but a startup seeing a gap in a traditional business ready for disruption.

I really like this as the value of the company can be realized today and it is not a lofty idea that will take years to fulfil.

Reason 2

The other crucial factor that I usually look out for is a strong backing from investors and advisors.

Influential and credible advisors are important as their presence on the board implies a strong support as they are backing the project with their reputation on the line.

Institutional Investors and large private investors are important when it comes to an ICO. I think a lot of people do not like to see too much Presales as there are often heavy discounts given to presales investors as dumping of the coins happened right after the ICO sometimes, hurting retail investors.

I see it differently, only presales that gives discounts to large retail investors are those I will avoid as these large retail investors tend to just dump the coins upon listing on exchanges.

Institution and large private investors are different from the large retail investors as they tend to hold for long.

These guys are looking for many multiples before vesting.

I really like institutional investors and large private investors as the amount they buy are usually large and it is not possible for them to dump it immediately as there are usually lock on their investments or the amount they hold is simply too big to be just dump on the typical exchange without hurting their own profits.

In the case of Dragon, they have secured 4 junket operators in the business who have committed $265 USD million to their project. They are equivalent to large private investors who will likely hold on to their tokens.

And in this case, they are also users of the Dragon Coins so this makes them doubly credible as Dragon has proven to have significant market interest.

For advisors, looking at their lineup, I see 1 or 2 persons whom will have a significant impact to the business.

Nick Spanos who founded the NYC Bitcoin Center who can bring significant interests from the bitcoin community to Dragon Inc and Las Ho Choi who is a successful casino management businessman in South Korea.

Las Ho Choi is also a junket operator himself and he will be able to bridge the junket industry players to Dragon Inc.

Mr Las involvement is what draws my attention, especially when I have been told that the first junket Dragon is operating is in South Korea; a hint of what Las Ho Choi can bring in for Dragon perhaps.

Reason 3

The gambling business is a growing business and it is a business that many countries are opening up to as they start to realize that a lot of revenues can be generated from this sector. The county can benefit directly from revenues generated from the gambling as well as tourism dollars from the gamblers and/or their families spending on shopping and dinners while in town.

Vietnam is going to be a big market for gambling and we will see many of the traditional Macau casino and junket operators heading there.

Even Japan is preparing to open their first casino at the moment with their Diet discussing about the location of the site of the integrated casino resorts.

Gambling is a business to stay and it will keep growing stronger. Moreover the rich are getting richer which means more money on the table for VIP gamblers. The world’s richest 500 just added 1 trillion dollars to their wealth this year alone.

Reason 4

As I participate in the telegram chat, I had discovered some nuggets of information that I feel will be able to drive up the price of Dragon coin.

This same information can be gleaned from the whitepaper but it is not given sufficient attention in the whitepaper so do join the telegram group https://t.me/DragonOfficialENG

A burning program which will burn the circulating Dragon coins from 35mil to 21mil. This will take out 40% of the coins from circulation and will inadvertently drive the price of Dragon coins upwards.

Look at how Binance Coin has rise from $0.1 to a high of $11.3 yesterday (Dec 27th 2017) and you can understand the upward effects of coin burning.

The other less discussed information is the monthly airdrop of “10% of the net monthly income from all Dragon Junkets and affiliated junkets into the wallet of one very fortunate DRG holder through algorithmic random selection”.

This is why I will not only invest in Dragon ICO but also hold on to my Dragon Coins for this chance of getting the airdrop.

Anyway these reasons are my personal reasons for investing into Dragon coins and may or may not be similar to yours. Everyone needs to really do their due diligence before investing but I do hope this article can be a starting point for your research into Dragon coin.

Dragon is having their Pre-ICO sales at this moment and will end on 31st Dec. After which you can still have a chance to buy Dragon coins from the exchanges because Dragon coins will be listed soon in January. And there will be a main sale somewhere in February 2018 too.
