It’s been a minute since I actually talked about something happening on Hive, but recently I’ve been seeing something pop up more and more on my feed, and in the the blog posts here and I figured it’s worth talking about, in relation to the iuc contest for the week.

So the whole idea behind Hivesnaps is pretty straightforward i guess. Instead of writing long form blog posts like we’re used to on the Hive blockchain, Hivesnaps focuses on short, quick updates. Think of it like posting a moment instead of telling a full story. It could be a picture, a short thought, a gif or something random you noticed, or even just a quick update about your day.

Because if you’ve been on Hive for a while, you already know the culture here has always leaned more towards long-form content. Full blogs, detailed and quality write-ups storytelling, deep thoughts and that’s the core of it, but Hivesnaps comes completely different energy.

One thing I personally find interesting about Hivesnaps is how it has no the barrier to entry. Not everyone wants to write 500+ words every time they post. Sometimes you just want to say something quick and move on, So people arent forced to put short ideas into long posts. Of course, the main question is whether this kind of feature fits into Hive’s identity, because let’s be honest, Hive has always been known for depth. It’s not like other platforms where everything is just quick scroll, quick like, move on. People come here to read, to write, to express ideas fully but i, personally wish it was more like twitter or X, that you can just write a quick post and jet out. I also like that you can see multiple platforms at once and dont have to keep switching between platforms, sometimes you can even forget that the other platforms exist when you are so fixated on a particular one but i like that Hive snaps solves this beautifully.

On the flip side to be honest i never really knew about hive snaps, i dont know if it has always been here or its just now that its getting a push. I also noticed that its basically like the ecency wavesbut like for all other platforms linked into one, which is cool. But i feel it has to have something unique that will take people away from the just going to ecency snaps or leo threads and make people use it actively , because most people just come here to post, drop a couple of comments and jet out. * * * ##### 🔗 Apps which I recommend built by sagarkothari88
